S.  Our range of services includes solid waste collection, transfer, disposal and recycling to approximately 2 million commercial, industrial, and residential customers in 26 states.  We have an immediate position open for a swing shift Mechanic to work on our fleet of garbage trucks in Tacoma, WA. Our location is in Parkland at present, but we will be moving to a new facility in Frederickson at the end of the year. Mechanics interested in secure, steady employment are encouraged to apply.  The hours of the position are Monday-Friday 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm.  Must have own tools.  The position starts at $21 per hour, DOE.       Please do not stop by our local office.  Apply online at www.wasteconnections.com.
  • Performs repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services. Performs inspections, diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
  • Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
  • Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment.
  • Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
  • Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
